well, i never cared for the shows(voyager was the only on that i really wathced for a while) and never saw the movies.
my dad contacted me the other day saying that it looked pretty good, and that since he knows im into the whole sci-fi thing that it might be a movie i would like. so i was thinking about going to see it, just wanted to know what others thought of it first. _________________

I saw the movie.
I have never seen the old version of the Star trek show nor the old version of the movie, but I admit that is pretty good. |

Haven't seen it yet, though I keep hearing it's good. As a guy who grew up watching "The Next Generation" and reruns of the Original Series, I'll admit that I'm probably more skeptical, but if it's cool enough to hook non-Trekkies I suppose it can't be all bad. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! I saw it today in IMAX and I have to admit it was great. The main 7 all lived up to the originals. All the jokes and lines admittedly transitioned perfectly and are funny. |

Since this is an "Alternate" timeline - I think it'd be great to see StarTrek crew VERSUS the BORG!!!!!
HAHA. They never had the originial startrek go against borgs!
Or maybe T'pol makes an appearance.
After all she's a vulcan so she shouldn't really age that much.

I saw the movie the night before last (Sunday for me) and I must say I was VERY impressed. They cast every part beautifully, the plot and screenplay were both fantastic, I don't have a single complain about it. I do however have two questions. 1: At what point do the Romulans become so....mercenary-ish? 2: Was Ahura always that...affectionate towards Spock? I have'nt seen any episodes of the original series, so I don't know. In closing, I must say anyone who is a fan of high intensity action/sci-fi movies MUST see this movie, whether they are a Star Trek fan or not. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

no they totally changed that one. Uhura was not that affectionate with Spock in the old show. They definitely changed that one.

I did'nt think so. I'm glad my limited knowledge of the original series is'nt totally useless after all. Thank you, Ronald. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

My favorite character was Scott (I think that is his name). I just love his Irish accent. Every time when his scene comes up, I get goosebumps listening his voice. X3
I also love that little green guy (Do someone know his name?)
It might sound weird, but he look so cute. X3 |

X3 | I think the "Scott" you're referring to is Montgomery Scott, aka: "Scotty", who is the chief engineer of the Enterprise in the original series and holds the rank of lieutenant commander. He's actually supposed to be Scottish, not Irish, though oddly enough the character's never been played by an actual Scottish person (Simon Pegg, who plays him in the movie, is English, and James Doohan, who played him in the original series and movies, is a Canadian of Irish descent).
Haven't seen the movie yet, so I don't know who the "green guy" is you speak of. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

i think(based on the commercials that i have seen) that the green guy might be the bad guy, although i cant be sure(a movie with aliens, there may be more then one green guy....) i think if he is the bad guy, "cute" isnt a look they were going for _________________

No, Scotty's little green sidekick, while mean looking, is not a badguy. And I don't think it's name ever comes up, Lidia. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

I thought so, too. I guess I thought I heard it when Scotty yelled at him to get down. XD |

Yea it looked so sad when Scotty left, but it was nice to see it followed him to the Enterprise later.
I was surprised at how they nearly tripled the crew number from 430 to 1100. The Galaxy class Enterprise-D help 1000+ and that was considered a lot. I was shocked at how the Kelvin held over 800 members alone.
On a side note they confirmed Admiral Archer's mention in the movie is really is Scott Bakula's character Jonathan Archer and why Starfleet so much more advanced compared to TOS. Almost TNG grade tech. |

The "new" Constitution Class (if this is the same class name they use in the movie *g*) is MUCH larger than the old one. Just look at the shuttle bay ...
I am glad that I spent the money for this movie, although some parts disappointed me a bit ( Spock and Uhura? NO WAY !!!) and the destruction of Vulcan scared me. Other parts were really fun (like the ringing nokia phone in the car, the whole cinema started laughing) and the dialogues between Spock and McCoy (unfortunately I can't quote them as I watched the movie here in Germany) _________________ click here |

Yeah the ship's class is still the same. And you're right that it's large..much larger. In fact it is now the largest known Federation ship. It's larger that even the Sovereign class. 3,000 feet versus the Sovereign class' length of 2,247 feet. That explains that. |

Oh, but a Sovereign is soo much sexier.
Being lazy though, how did it compare to the Prometheus class, which is what I always thought stood as the biggest model? _________________ Ewan's Golden Glass
