I tried seeing if there was an already exisisting thread on this, but didn't find any results, and this thread might be a dead pan, but Eh what do I have to loose, I'm just trying to be part of the community, well I'll go first.

Me, I play the Tenor Saxaphone. Though once you learn it you can pretty much play them all, Saprano, Alto, Berri.

I'd LOVE to learn to play the Violen, but not the fiddle, I'm in the South where it was made, and don't want to remeber of my painful orgins. I'd also love to learn guitar and bass, and MAYBE Dj ing. You know with the records, like those guys in the Blue Man Group, I'd like to do that if I ever get to host a rave party. LOL

I used to play the songflute, the flute and the piano (in that order, but not all at the same time) and I would love nothing more than to learn to play the violin. (I'll take it as a personal favor if you all will keep the classic "the songflute is'nt a real instrument" comments to yourselves)

I played the clarinet in junior high, tenor saxophone in highschool, I own a guitar that I've tried to teach myself to play (with minimal success, I should really practice), and I used to be a DJ, though I used CD's so I didn't have much practice with scratching effect but could still do a bit of mixxing and syncing up rhythms of different songs on the fly. I actually own an old pair of DJing turntables that were gifted to me from a friend, but I've never been able to hook them up properly. I also lack a library of records to practice with, and there's no way my parents would lend me any of their old albums to scratch with... Laughing

My cousin played the cello, weighed a ton, though I was 7 when I "tried to hold it." Glad to hear a fellow Tenor Saxaphonist out there. Tenor Saxaphonist to me in general feel like some sort of endangered species or animal, everyone want to play the alto, nothing against it, but I just don't know why people would want to play something that sounds so high in pitch all the time? Aw well; oh an Taliesin, at least it's the electric fiddle and not the regular one, you slil by my "Oh GOD O'meter" with that one word "electric." I have respect for that instrument ever sine I went to my first Trans Siberian Orchestra concert, and saw a SEXY woman, though they're all sexy, play next to an electric guitarist on a platform shooting 250 feet up, playing cristmas song in heavy metal. If no one knows who they are, just type in the bands name, and watch the music video on their site or youtube, you won't regret it. Unless you don't celebrate cristmas

I used to play the recorder at school (same as Ashton, if my research is correct and a recorder is what you call a songflute), but I haven't for years. I learned a bit of piano and a bit of guitar, but I haven't really retained much of any musical talent. I can play a basic 4-4 rhythm on the drums, from an impromptu drums lesson from a friend, but that's about the extent of it.

Speaking of electric fiddles and a sexy woman, makes me think of Escala, from this year's Britain's Got Talent. (Their performance in the final, if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSzmuSUR3U0)

I used to play the piano for a number of years but I doubt if I could remember anything now. I wouldn't mind getting a decent synthesizer but what I'd really love to learn is the didgeridoo.

Now, Xebulon, has brought up something interesting. What is a didgeridoo. I've never heard of this thing. Do tell why you would like to play it? Of course only if your willing (*Bows*)

Didgeridoo is a large wooden instrument, usually composed of hardwood or bamboo. It is played like a trumpet and creates an amazing droning sound that is both very soothing and sort of spooky. It is a traditional instrument of the Aboriginal peoples in Northern Australia, where the instrument was invented. It takes a lot of training and expertise to get a lot of the amazing sounds that can be created with a didgeridoo, not to mention that experts used a form of "circular breathing" technique to be able to play non-stop without breaking to breathe.

I always thought didgeridoos were awesome, but personally I've always wanted to learn how to play the Scottish bagpipes. Then I'd change my name...

I was in the school band for ten years, even through H.S. I played the Bari. Sax. I was also in a band with a few friends of mine. I was the singer. We did a few shows, mostly battle of the bands like stuff, nothin major. And to answer your question Johnny, Yes, I really do play the banjo.

Thanks Johnny, soon after I posted my question to Xal (having trouble remembering how its spelled so now you are Xal sorry Smile ) I checked the delaroju out and siad AHHH so thats what it's called. Ii think I got enough lung capacity to play that thing, sitting by the fire, under the stars in a cool Australian desert, playing when nothing can be heard miles away, calling to the spirits of times past. AHHHH makes me calm and soothed. That really would be a wonderful thing to play and do. I think I'll take up lessons whenever I go there.

Also Taliesin, I'm assuming you checked the sight, and loved it LOL. I'm glad, if you noticed they do Beethovens stuff too, and its REALLY GOOD. you should check their touring schedule, they'll start touring around America for concerts around mid October, playing their songs LIVE and with pyrotechnics YEAH. I go every year, only costs me $50 for one, and all I need is a cold beer and I'm set.

trumpet, Eh so so, our marching band consisted of 217 people, best time of my life, everyone loved me. But damn did we have a lot of trumpet players. I'm not saying their bad, but I have to wonder, did they even think of what instrument to play, or just say, I don't car, UH, trumpet.

Now as for the tuba, YEAH, now that's an instrument, it other than percussion, it's the backbone of the band, plus my Best Friend in the whole world plays tuba. GAWD I can't wait for christmas break to see him again. We keep in touch pretty well, like 10 emails a week. he's the only other person, besides another, who's just like me in town. I swear if I ever get married, he's gonna be my best man.

I use to play the clarinet in a band in 6th grade, but I quit after, because it didn't fit me playing a intrusment, so I took choir for the rest of school years.
