I wanted to get this forum setup so I can learn more about what you guys think of Smallville. Or Enterprise..
While I could go to those other forums related to them and have a discussion there. I'm lazy. and I would rather hear the members of this forum share their thoughts on their favorite tvshow. At least it's a bit more close to home.
Or talk about favorite movies and such.
Some movies I've seen recently....
"Napolen Dynamite" - funny movie.
"Resident Evil 2" - matinee at best.... only watch if if u want to see her main character (Milla Jovovich) get naked at the end.
"Bourne Supremacy" - good action flick.
"Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" - fun movie. (love Angelina Jolie! too bad she wasn't the main character.)
I want to know the ending for the Forgotten! (if any of you saw it) I want FULL details. I heard it sucked so I want to get the ending info. _________________ "Every exit is an entrance somewhere else." -Tom Stoppard

I wouldn't say that it sucked, but it was a bit disappointing. It's a happily ever after ending, but you are ratherly left feeling like the powers behind the whole bizarre incident really weren't properly explored. The movie could have definitely benefitted from this, and with it only being an hour and a half long it wouldn't have made it seem tedious to delve into such details. It falls short for lack of it though. Wait for it on DVD is my best advice. Maybe there will be a directors cut that takes the movie up a notch, or at least half a notch. I'd give The Forgotten two and a half stars out of five, because it makes you think about just how easy life could get turned upside down by the loss of a child under mysterious circumstances. _________________

Smallville rocks. I was originally leary of such an insane revamp of the mythos of Superman, but the show is great if you can get past that. I mean, Lana not close friends with Clark? Pete Ross as a black kid? Who the hell is this Chloe chick(besides being a hottie!)? The Luthors living in Smallville? Personally, I want to know how they're going to make Lex and Lois not remember Clark before he gets to Metropolis. Maybe Jor-El erases their memory? But, other than those WTFs?, I love the show.
As for Enterprise? I'm starting to think the series should've died with Rodenberry. Time travelling to the WWII era is bad enough, but a Nazi alien? Do you want me to beat you? I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being the show's last season unless Brannon Braga can pull something seriously great out of his ass.

Have yet to see "Dynamite", but I want to.
RE2 was a good movie. Love Milla Jovovich. I thought it was better than the first movie, but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Still need to see "Supremacy". And "Collateral". And "The Village", even though I heard it either sucked, or was good but the end sucked.
"Sky Captain" was unexpectedly awesome. Definitely worth seeing. Loved how they did the whole thing and how it looked like it was from that era. I thought it ended on a "They're going out on THAT joke?" note, but I'd definitely recommend it. _________________ "Women are like Voltron. The more you hook up, the better it gets." |

A group of children who are on a plane (for an unknown reason) disappear without a trace. They are assumed to be dead, until one woman notices that the son she lost seems as if he's getting erased from existence. She is told that her mind manufactored the son she says she knew as a result of mental trauma from him being still born. Unwilling to accept that as the truth, she sets out on a search to both try and find her son, and find out why he and the rest of the children from the plane that disappeared are being made to be forgotten. She forms an unlikely partnership with a man who lost his daughter on the same vanished plane, who at first doesn't even remember that he had a daughter. They attempt to uncover the truth, but their search is made difficult by special agents pursuing them, as well as an extremely mysterious man. Along the way they discover that they're dealing with a power beyond any organization or government. Only a select few know the real truth, and it is something vastly shocking. The disappearance of the children wasn't about abducting them, but part of an insidious experiment to make those who loved them forget they even existed. But try at they may they're unable to make the woman forget she has a son. In the end she faces the mysterious man who she'd been making every effort to evade. He tries taking away the memory of her son's birth in a final attempt to erase the knowledge of her son, and for a brief moment he achieves his goal. She denies him ultimate victory though by remembering back to when she was pregnant with her son. The experiment is thusly deemed a failure and terminated. Her son a her life the way it was before she thought him dead are returned, in addition to those of the other parents and their children. She then realizes that she is the only one to retain memory of the events that occured. _________________

I think the movie had good potential, but was kept from being alot better by both the short length and not being more in depth. _________________

Was the man human or alien?
Reminds of this movie about time traveling. Millenium. http://imdb.com/title/tt0097883/
Where people from the future kidnaps people from the past who are suppose to die anyways on plane crashes to repopulate the future because of some the people in the future are having problems reproducing. _________________ "Every exit is an entrance somewhere else." -Tom Stoppard

He certainly wasn't human. You are just left to your own devices to decide about what he may be since, as I say, the powers that are at work never get explored in any detail. An enormous mistake in my opinion. _________________

The Forgotten sounds even suckier than The Village.
And, let's face it, The Village could suck an entire planet out of its orbit!

No kidding! All the reviews I've read just said basically Forget about seeing it. But they never say exactly what the ending is....
They all describe it as some sort of Xfiles themed.... It definitely sounds lame.... I'm a sucker for these types of movies... But the rates of a movie ticket has gone up - so I'd rather just wait til it his cable or something.
Reviewers have been wrong on a number of occassions...
For example: Paycheck was a good movie in my opinion. Planet of the Apes (remake) also a good one.... And those who wrote the reviews were just totally way off base for that movie. _________________ "Every exit is an entrance somewhere else." -Tom Stoppard

The thing about The Village is that, once you get to the end, you realize that the entire plot has been a red herring. All the 'monsters in the woods' stuff actually serves no purpose except to fill in time between the beginning of the movie and the last 20 minutes. It's not so much like the X-Files as a really weak episode of The Twilight Zone or one of those lame fantasy stories where the character wakes up and discovers it has all been a dream.
If you want a REAL mindbending horror movie, try to chase up a Korean flick called A Tale of Two Sisters. It's one of those movies that it's best not to know too much about the plot before you start watching, but essentially it's about a little girl who comes home after suffering some sort of nervous breakdown and how she tries to protect her younger sister from their creepy stepmother. I can promise you that by the time you reach the end you'll feel like your brain has just been through a food processor. And you'll never quite look at your kitchen sink the same way again.
