Yep. I'm eager to get that. I'm wondering if they'll have Sigourney Weaver do a cameo voice for Ripley. That'd be sweet. _________________

Also the AvP game was not that great. | I think he meant the AvP movie.
Also, I believe the game is based more on the thrid movie as pretty much everything they are talking about is from the second movie, although that is carried over from the second movie.
As for exactly when this game is set, I guess we have only to wait and see. Personally, I'd rather like to have a good Predators game made that is based on the movies.
Both franchises are excellent and, although some may not agree with me that the AvP movies are good, imho they melded the two franchises well.
Only AvP game I've played was AvP: Extinction (must find and download that) and I rather enjoyed it. _________________

Aliens and Predator games had potential, but people are more focused on image than gameplay quality, which really saddened me. _________________

((For me, it's the little touches that were in the movie that made it especially cool.
The long, panning shots through the ship to show how... empty of life it was. The fact that every measurement was in metric units. The fact that the USCSM brought along two, civilian experts, and one business contact.
Anyway, if the game lives up to the trailers, that'll be kicking!
I... never really got into the whole AvP thing. They just seemed like... two, independant, story-lines. So... *shrug* I dunno. Just not my cup of tea. )) |

The whole AvP stems from the shot in Predator 2. Danny Glovers character is looking at a bunch of skulls and one of the skulls is an Alien skull. Since then the two stories have collided. _________________ I am what I am and proud to be who I am.

The first reference I ever saw was the old Capcom Arcade game that pitted 2 humans and 2 predators on a team against the onslaught of aliens infesting San Fransisco. _________________

((To Aarom_Thom,
I understand the reference, and the "beginning" point of the whole AvP franchise... it just never clicked for me.
I would have to say that's because the Predators just seem too... hard core. The Marines were good, but they're humans. They're fragile. The Predator(s) were always shown as bad muthas, and it made the Aliens less... horrifying and terrible and creepy and frightening. Shoot, I can remember the whole Predator/Colonial Marine/Alien 4-player, quarter-chomping, arcade game.
That and "Colonial Marines" just... sounds cooler than "Predator". Anyway, just my thoughts. These and $1.25 USD will get you a cup of coffee.)) |
