I never really could follow the Doctor Who series, so I can't bash it when I do not understand it.

I am afraid to say that I am old enough to have watched Doctor Who when the part was played by Jon Pertwee, the third incarnation of the Doctor.
It was a much slower paced show fourty years ago. Now of course it has to appeal to American audiences, that's where the money is, and so it is much more wham-bang-thank-you-Davros.
While the latest actors playing the Doctor are good. It seems to me that they all play it as hyper-active depressives( if there can be such creatures).Trying to come across as eccentric, when in fact they should be cutting down on the sugar and caffine. Now one can beat Tom Baker for eccentric.

((*smirks*

I think you're just jellous we do weird-crazy better than you do ^_^

...sorry, just... found that funny for some reason, Tearlach.

Anyway, for me, a lot, and I mean A LOT, of normal nerd-British TV is... non memorable. Red Dwarf, HGTTG, Dr. Who, Monty Python's Flying Circus... pretty much I really am indifferent too. Which is weird, because I actually thought "Are You Being Served?" was enjoyable. Yeah, I know, sacrilidge, and I'm sure I lost about a zillion nerd-qualification points and all. But... *shrug* I dunno. Never really got into it. ))

I personnally found "Are you being served?" quite funny. Even though it is not repeated in Britain any more. For some reason people object to a rather openly gay man and a middle-aged woman complaining that her pussy gets irate because it doesn't get the attention it thinks it deserves. >^.^< Laughing
