QUICK QUESTION/SMALL RANT. (I'm good at those)

It might just be me, but I don't think it is, really.

I kind of want to know what the hell happened to roleplay style like (random names here):

Jean walked across the garden and watched the pond as the fish inside it swam. She longed to be as peaceful as they were, and obviously, it could not happen. The moonlight washed over the garden and everything in it, making the slim tigress appear a silvery-blue color, instead of her normal striking off-white with black stripes. The tigress sighed. "Life hasn't ever been the same since Mother died..." she whispered softly.

What the hell happened to it?!?! Now it's shit like:

For real. This might be just another one of Cassandre's pointless bitch fits, but no offense to the newer RPers here, but the roleplaying style was a helluva lot better and more sense-making before I left than it is now.

Cass, if that little snippet is not to your liking, stay the fuck away from Furrynerd. For the sake of your own sanity. Otherwise, most people that regularly RP here aren't all that bad. Some are a bit simpler than others (their RP style, not their mental capacity), but others still go for that bit of flare. I myself try to add a bit of flare to mine. Even though it is roleplaying, I try not to totally neglect creative writing. It helps me practise and keep my writings skills (what skills I have) sharp.

I do understand your outrage Cassandre. Thou i think it's more to do with a lot of older members no longer role playing as much due to reasons ranging from small to large. Some times i have even thought about starting a role playing 101 class semi Rp. But what boils the murcury in my meture over RPing is, when i type out a full detailed paragraph while still keeping things open for some one, and all i get in reply is only one FREKEN SENTENCE!!!

Seesh!! then agean it is not some thing i have resently stumbled on in this forum. When playing 2nd life, a good chunk of people i tryed role playing with would act as if i had to do every freken thing durring the S&M plays, And yet a lot of people on SL wonder why ther is more subs than doms as if the wheel in ther freken heads are spinning but the gerbel has long seens died!

I see what you mean. Whenever I role play, I try to incorporate as much detail as I can in my writing. I am a harsh critic when it comes to my own writing, though.

I can see it now. I'd be the teacher with the cane forcing students to put up eloquent, lovely posts with spelling and gramatical errors to a minimum, and dear lord, NO ** for action. The one thing that pisses me off the most is when people do that. I fought really fucking hard to be in America and be able to speak this language, and God damn it, I'm not about to let people fuck it up because they think that they can because it's a forum to a porn site. Because, you know, God forbid people who read/look at porn be literate! That's just one of the many impossibilities on Earth, it appears.
Did I mention that I don't like it when people do that? I really don't. I mean, I can understand people not being able to type well, having dyslexia or something, and I use shortenings for words as well, but doing that. When it's supposed to be literate and complete words, and a nice paragraph or two just pisses the shit out of me. That's right, it makes me so mad, that shit comes out when I pee. THAT'S HOW ANGRY IT MAKES ME. @-O <--- Cass's psycho face.

Well this site is different from most others, this forum facilitates relationships between its members, more guys than gals, but for a porn site that's good. I'm glad I joined, its given me some social supplement, I still find myself wanting more though. Its a good place to vent a bit too.

I think the *Descriptive action* has its place in posting on the forum as has #Singing#.
However such shortcuts should never be used in a role playing game, where one is telling a story rather then trying to convey personnal actions to another.

Yeah, the other thing that gets at me with Role-Playing that makes it to the point where I don't play are the people. Nothing about their style of posting, but the fursonas. There was a time when you could see a username and look for the fursona that persona posted and you knew who you were playing with. Now who you're RPing with gives you MAYBE a tiny hint as to who you're actually dealing with. People seem to like creating a fursona for every day of the week or maybe even one for every month. Characters are one thing, but main fursonas are another. I've already voiced how much I hate multiple fursonas. The thing I find funny are how it usually results in, "Well no one else RPs" type of responses. Take a wild flipping guess why! I just outright avoid the RP section, but I would like to make an Old-Timers RP. Problem with that is it would be at a normal, slower pace, so it would be buried to the second page in an hour. I honestly believe that the RP board has become an insatiable monster that cannot be stopped and that those unfortunate souls caught in its presence slowly have their brains rotted away as they get consumed to the mass.

I have a game under way at the moment and rather then every one trying to post at once each player is listed and takes their turn according to the list each player has 24 hours from the previous players post to post their part of the story and if they do not do so within the time limit then they lose their turn and have to wait until it comes round again. If they try pushing in then that player is told to leave the game.

I make a lot of fursonas because I lose inspiration in them or they just don't represent me anymore. Or, like Cassandre, they just become... Defunct. Unworkable. Offensive to the other people that are roleplaying. I think, now, that I'm best making characters that lead very strict lifestyles, because a little bit of every character I've ever made goes into them. They get a little bit of crazy (from Cass), a little bit of strength (from Otto), a little bit of bravery (from Frisco) and a little bit of unconsious sensuality. I try to make my characters sexy, but not. I put as much into them as I can, then strip them bare, and build them back up again. It's rare for me to have a character that hasn't suffered some sort of trauma. I mean, just ask about any characters that you know of (Ana Krieg not included -- she's one of the rare ones.), and I can tell you numerous points of trauma. With Cass its way too easy, because I was half-drunk when I created her and I was feeling a little bit depressed, so she got a really fucked up story.
But then again, a lot of my characters do. They get personalities built off of their expieriences, just like a normal person would. Some of them respond in different ways. Cassandre, a girl who witnessed her entire family murdered, was raised to be an assassin, and she went insane and killed. A lot. Of people. (for any of the people who don't know Cass, I can try and figure out a way to get you her revamped profile.) Felicity, who pretty much had everyone she'd ever loved killed or had her carted away, responds by harnessing her (rather intense) sexuality, and by secluding herself into religion. But you know what? It makes her realistic. Cass, though completely unbelievable, is actually realistic in her own way. If you saw that, and if you were raised by people who didn't care about you, and just used you to get what they needed done, you'd probably end up like that as well. Of course, Cassandre always had... bad friends. Which is probably why she got various piercings and acted the way she was. She was very into prolongued torturous death. She often took a week just to kill one person. (she stalked them leading up to the death and then took a day to kill them, and then spent a while distrubuting various bits of dismembered victim around the area.)
What I'm trying to say, in a very long-winded and rambling post, is that I have good reasons to make new fursonas every now and then. People who do it for shits 'n' giggles are kinda stupid. I mean, your fursona is you. You don't change yourself all the time, do you? No, you don't. And if you do, then you're obviously going through a terrible existential crisis and I'd reccomend a support circle or a good psychologist. Trust me. That shit's not fun.
Anyway. I'm off to put Ana in the character thread and make my lovely little ermine character. SHE'S EEEEVIIILLLLL.
