Got another one stupid nonsense tricks
In Halo if you punch someone in one shoulder it takes their shields down and if you punch them in the other shoulder its a kill. For one thing there in heavy metal armor, a punch just doesn't have enough force to kill! |

Halo or Call of Duty
Both have problems with spawn killing, seems like an easy fix to me
Worse on Call of Duty though
For me Modern Warfare two was half assed because of most of the things on this thread. So then...for me Black ops has been 3/4 assed.
I like Halo better, because there is less lag error, no people make penis emblems (anymore), its pretty balanced, but you need to be able to jump into a game, or give the outnumbered team more shields. I don't know.
Playing a game while writing this
28. People that end up on your team but just stand around
29. Infection game type is not balanced, zombies are to easily killed. |

Time to add some of my pet peeves that ruin games:
33. Tutorials and prologues of games lasting a large portion of the game and cannot be skipped.
34. Games relying too heavily on visuals instead of game play.
35. Constant rehashes of old games (*Cough* Super Mario Bros. remakes *Cough*)
36. Terrible sequels to good, previous games. _________________ My Fursona

38. People who rage that their console is better than someone elses (I.E. revival of the damn Bit Wars)
39. Constant creation of uninspired MMO's
40. Crappy Sonic games that continue to murder my childhood because Sonic Team thinks they know what the fans want but ultimately don't.
And the biggest one of all...
41. FUCKING DLC!
Just make the whole game self-contained. And if you're going to have add-on content down the road, make it free! Seriously, paying for DLC is basically buying an incomplete game in the first place... seriously weak. _________________ Fursona:

42. People raging over petty things that actually have nothing to do with what they think it does.
43. People winging about things that have legitimate reasons for being and either failing to see that reason or blatantly ignoring it because it does not suit their preferences.
Seriously, people, this thread is getting pathetic. It's turning into a bitch fest. At first, all of them were good. Now only a couple are good.
Bedlam, yes, DLC can be "inconvenient" for some people. But DLC is typically little more than micro sequels or novelties. As for paying for them? Why not? The programmers work just as hard on the add-ons as the main game itself. Why should they not get paid for that as well?
How in the hell does people raging that their console is better than another ruin gaming? Nine out of ten games made are released on almost every platform there is these days, with occasional and very minor variations that are usually little more than cosmetic.
Tutorials exist for a reason and are typically considerably short, making them little more than a slight inconvenience. I haven't played hundreds of games, but no game I have played (which by no means is a small number) has contained a tutorial lasting more than 10 minutes. Unless you are totally incompetent or insanely impatient, breezing through an "un-skippable" tutorial should not be a bother, unless you play the game over and over and over and over and over and over and over and so on; by which time the tutorial should be little more than a blur before getting into the main game. Also, tutorials that are actually part of the game are, as far as I know, rare; in which case most tutorials can be avoided altogether.
Believe it or not, but solid fans of "constant game rehashes" have no objection to their games being continually being "remade". Because quite frankly, the game is not actually being remade. Fans desire new pastures, new experiences and generally new looks. The Super Mario Bros. franchise has boomed and continued to do so because each new game has brought a little bit more for the fans; from new villains to new allies and even entire new ways to play. Originally, the Sonic games were no different. But because the new games have been poorly done, they fail to please true, old skool sonic fans. These falls into the "crappy sequels" category.
Crap games such as Micheal Jackson the game? Come on! If you are letting piddly little games like that ruin your gaming experience... I'm afraid there is something wrong with you. No body is forcing you to play it. Ignore it. Do you really sit around and go "Call of Duty would be so much better if they had not made that crappy E.T. game." _________________

((Wow, gang... talk about the kabitz session.
You know... if you don't enjoy pvp as much as you used too... quit doing it. There are hundreds of games out there, from the big companies to indies that I'm sure one of them will catch your attention. Shoot, I just picked up Racettear: An Item Shop Story from Steam, and it's adorably fun. I've also been playing Fallout: New Vegas, and have been having a blast checking out the greater Vegas area.
Yes, I know that online gaming is the new arcade, and a lot of players don't have the normal arcade courtesy rules down. And yes, I know that a solid number of games being released tote online game as their big thing. From sports games, to first-person-shooters, to rpgs, to sims, game designers put in multiplayer aspects. But, if you don't enjoy playing with gamers, don't play with those people. And if that leaves you with no one to play with... well... either deal with playing with bots forever, or realize there are 6 BILLION people on the planet, and you have ONE twin... so that leaves 5,999,999,999 people that are going to play / enjoy the game you're playing in different ways. On a side note, there is a reason gamers have such stereotype of being socially inept people.
To take this from a WoW perspective. I hate PvP in WoW. I absolutely detest it. Not only is my brain not wired to really do PvP decently, I just suck at it. I don't find it any fun. I have done it a handful of times to help out some of my WoW friends, but I'll ultra-purple-rarely do PvP on my own. So... even though my PvP achievements would be the easiest thing for me to inflate, I don't play it. There are hundreds of other ways I can fritter away my time in WoW. Fishing, dungeons, getting herbs, cooking (and if one of you mentions about the girl liking to cook, I'm going to kick you so hard your great-grandkids will feel it), emptying zones of quests, etc.
So, quit kabitzing gang, and update yourself. If you don't like the online community, don't play the online aspect of the game.
That's my two american cents on the matter.))

Not to be a nag or anything, but you have 3 too many 9's in that number, Caroline. That's actually 1 shy of 6 trillion, not 6 billion. Just pointing that out. Easy mistake. _________________

I guess I should have explained a bit more for my reasons.
I do see the importance of DLC, especially in MMO's as they do keep the game's life going. But still, I shouldn't have to pay for it. Often, many companies are releasing unfinished products that cost full value (ie 50 bucks for a hard copy or like 10-15 for a wii-ware/PS Network/Xbox Arcade title) and then make you pay more shortly after release for more stuff. The best example I can think of is Mega Man 9 and 10. Dont get me wrong, I freakin loved those games, but to make you pay extra for those extra modes and characters when they clearly should have been included in the first place really grinded my gears. Especially in MM10 when the DLC data was actually still within the original game download; all that was downloaded was a patch to basically make it open to play.
In that same vein, Expansion packs I don't mind terribly a lot either. With most expansion packs I've seen, there was enough added content in my opinion to justify the cost like Guitar Hero / Rockband packs (especially with those cause if anyone knows anything about the music industry, its freakin insane how much logistics and how expensive it is to put a song into a movie or game). I guess it really comes down to the context and how much content there is in an Expansion Pack or DLC that makes it reasonable to pay for it or not. But in terms in most DLC, I just don't feel its right to add surcharges on top of 50-60 dollar game.
As for people who rage about their system, what irks me about that is the fact that like days of the Genesis and SNES, I've seen people literally get into huge fights that their PS3 is better than the other guy's 360 or vice versa. But when I chime in saying that I own just a Wii and enjoy it, they look at me and put me down that Im a freakin idiot.
First off, I'm poor and can't afford the prettier systems nor the HD tv's or surround sound systems to full appreciate them. Second, same said people who argue like this put so much pride into which system they own is almost embarrassing and down right childish. Finally, video gaming isn't about how beautiful a game is, the quality of the music and sound, the extravagant plots, or whatever. To me, its all about the game play and whether each individual game is fun or not. And while the Wii is the weakest of the systems in terms of hardware, I still have fun and enjoy the games I have for it. That's what video gaming is all about right? Having Fun!
I dont mind rehashes cause I love New Super Mario Bros, the new throwback Mega Mans, or new iterations of Bomberman, and the like. Tutorials and prologues don't bug me cause they help you get into the mood of the game. Pretty games can be enjoyable but only if they have gameplay to match it -cough-Crystal Bearers-cough- Even crap games like Michael Jackson and High School Musical have their place and crowd which they try to tap into; I don't like them as much as the next gamer, but working in a small mom and pop video game store, I see first hand the niche that they were made for and it is a pleasant sight to see some little boy or girl get those weird and just off Disney games and smile.
Alas, I can go on and on about my feelings about the trend of gaming, but I'd probably just bore people here. I didn't mean to sound like I'm bitching about things, but the ones I listed are ones, in my opinion, are quirks about the gaming community that hurt me the most. _________________ Fursona:

Well you got a good taste in a game, I love Fallout new Vegas, thats the game I play to relax...being ornery here but I bet you can cook a good brahmin steak! ....please Not the crotch.....
Anyways Silv. Micheal Jackson the game is not affecting my gaming experience but it is affecting the industry, there are just somethings you don't do. Lets see I'll find an example in another industry....REMAKING TRUE GRIT you just don't remake John Wayne movies! Besides that isn't there some make of vehicle that just pisses you off every time you see one? I am complaining because its the American way, There are somethings we all would be better off without.
Oh heres another thing that just pisses me off!
