Hey guys, I just got myself a new sword that I commisioned from a man I met on youtube. Its a blade that crosses many boundaries between various cultures. It has the handle that has a medieval feel to it and is at least a foot in length. The blade has two separate functions based off the side you choose to use. It looks very much like a katana, except the blade is straight. One side has a typical sharp edge, with a tip to it allowing for thrusting. The other has a serrated edge designed to cut through steel since the blade itself came from a band saw sheet. Anyways, here is a small movie of it, with another one showing the scabbard.

looks bad ass, but is it balanced enough to wield effectively? _________________ Zombie Apocalypse Survival Rule #3

The balance is there. He made it so that the sword is balanced, and it took me awhile to get used to since its a real sword as opposed to the typical replicas. _________________

I think he takes submissions, but I saw that vid awhile back and simply requested that he remade it. I don't know if you can put in design ideas. Hell this guy made the Buster Sword and Masamune from FF7. _________________

No, he expects mail orders or checks to his home address in Massachusets. Its best to send him a private message in youtube. _________________

Be prepared to spend quite a bit. The sword that I showed in the first video costs $300 with shipping and is 250mm long. The second video shows one that is 300mm with a scabbard running up to $600. _________________

That seems about right. I have a leaf blade that I bought at the Renaissance Fair up in Maryland a year ago. Cost me $600. Real swords are not cheap but I've always liked the real thing compared to replicas. _________________ I am what I am and proud to be who I am.
