I'm working on my final exam for geography (Which is a take-home test), and I'm pretty busy because I've been going in and around town lately. So up until recently, I had gotten my classes registered back on monday and I need to pay off my classes on thurdsay (tomorrow). I still have funds to pay for the classes, so I'm not too bothered because I still have this month's check to look forward to. What bothers me most is that the deadline was on July 1st for financial aid, and I only just filed for it yesterday. I'm just really worried now that I might not be able to get it at all now because of how late it is in turning in my application. The only thing that I can pray for is that my former military status can aid me in getting it still so I can still pay off my books and bills. I still get paid by the military, but it usually does not even arrive until nearly 2 months after classes start. I am a nervous wreck at the moment because of all this.
Edit:
This day keeps getting worse and worse. A book I was going to turn in today would not be accepted because a new version of it comes out this semester. I swear that there should be a system where you are guaranteed a full resale at the end of a semester, regardless if a new book comes out so that people like me are not always on the receiving end of such abuse. I paid 200 dollars, and when I tried to turn it in at the end of the semester, they would'nt take it then because they had too many books of it.
On top of that, I find out that my classes costed more than intended, and there forefore not able to afford the classes right now. So now by the time I get all my monthly bills done for August, I'll be left with so little. I'm praying right now that I am granted that financial aid, because I need it now more than ever. Even my job only gets me about 200 dollars a month. And my VA money usually does not get to my home till two months after the semester starts.
The silver lining is that they pushed back the drop date for paying off the class, so my final VA check for the summer can help me pay off the classes.
Till then, I'm in a hole. _________________

You've been hanging around Hoshi. Taking lessons in procrastination. _________________

It had nothing to do with procastination. I've been so busy trying to get my house looking nice, get my kitten the proper care she needs, helping my dad after he just came home from Oregon, and studying for my classes. I did'nt even know when the deadline was. _________________

Excuses, excuses. That's what they all say.
(I'm just messin' with ya, Rune. Too much to do, not enough time to do it in. Always the way.) _________________

((Rune174,
It happens to everyone. In my not-so-humble-opinion, the MOST important thing for you to keep going, is keep getting your classes done. Once you stop your higher education, it really is difficult to get it restarted. I've been "working" on my Masters for 10 years now. And, sometimes textbooks are worth keeping. I have all mine from my 3rd and 4th year at college. Now... yes, they are a bit out of date, but they are excellent starting points and, since they are littered with my notes, make for great self-rememberance things. So... maybe it isn't a bad thing you have your books still.
Anyway, have you talked with Financial Aid at your school? They might be able to get you a Student Loan... or even a Student-Employee job. It might not pay much, but it might give you enough money to at least pay for books / rent or something.
So... I hope that helps some. Good luck when September rolls around.)) |
