Let's see if I remember it correctly:
Gamertags are a bit of a gray area and are currently acceptable. It promotes community and is less likely to be used as a venue for content sharing. IMs are more likely to be abused for piracy and that's why they aren't allowed to be shared. |

Oh yes, and people just have no way of sharing their IMs over XBox live... which ultimately amounts to the same as sharing IMs from point 1. Therefor, negating the argument that gametags pose no risk of content sharing.

What!? How is an IM screen-name more private than posting an FA name? Posting an FA name poses more risk of "content leakage" than gametags. This debate is seriously flawed. We already have people signing up to the site and leaking stuff, how is not letting friends exchange IMs preventing it? I just don't see the logic in the argument. We're all... mostly, friends here, not to mention loyal members. 9 out of 10 of us have a subscription.
I honestly don't see the logic in it.

Are you even reading before replying? I don't think you are. The fact that I at some point inquired about a friend's email/IM has in no way anything to do with this debate. Your 'point' is invalid.
I am not 'moaning' about anything. I am simply voicing my opinion that Ronald's reasoning is flawed. Yes, I said it, so sue me, it's my opinion and I have a right to it. And no, I am not getting worked up over this. I am merely pointing out that I, personally, do not see the reasoning that Ronald apparently sees.

becouse you can search for a gamertag. On xbox.com or any state tracking site for a game like bungie. Same with FA or DA accounts. I'M and emails have to be asked for or given to by the owner. That silv is the diffrence. You can't simply search for them |
