you know what grinds my gears? stubborn people. theres a point where being stubborn is funny and cute, but then theres the point where they know they are pissing you off, and they will keep doing what they are doing. for instance, i have a friend that is having a problem, she asks me for advice, i give her plenty of advice, then she comes out and says "well i was thinking about doing this instead". well why the hell did you ask for advice then? so it goes on like that until you just say "i'm not gonna help you anymore because you dont accept it" then they get pissed off at you like it was your fault that all that happened in the first place. so now i'm at the point where if anyone asks for my advice, they have a better chance of buying a tv with smell-o-vision.

Seeing as how it's been quite a while, I've decided to find a new topic to rant about:

I've played video games ever since the SNES came out. Some games I played were amusing and drew me in. Others... made me want to throw it onto a bonfire.

To me, the most important aspect of a video game is playability: In other words, how much fun I can have with a game before I grow bored or frustrated. I could care less about storyline, graphics or anything else.

So what drives me around the bend are games that look good, but are almost impossible to play! There is one game in particular that fits this description. I won't reveal the name, but I will say it is the thirteenth installment of a famous role playing video game series.

It's like the creators of the games were so focused on appearances and audio, that they neglected the core aspects of playability and control! It's more appropriate for a movie instead of a game, blast it!

Why is politics so complicated?

Why?

Cuz it's supposed to be. Think about it. Think of politics as a big game with very complicated rules. The ones who understand the rules win all the time, while the ones who are clueless are left in the dust.

The various social and political groups are tossed in to keep the lousy players fighting each other, so that the winners can keep winning.

That's the way I see it anyway...

What kind of person can spew vitriol at a story of sadness and/or triumph? When an individual pours their heart out on a story or a memory that touches deep within, how can someone display only cruelty or sadism? I see this all the time and it confuses me to no end.

Have we become so jaded a species that tears from others makes us thirsty for blood? I am not included in such monstrous reactions. I still shed tears at stories of true loss or valiance. I often wonder if there is any hope for us at all...

You know what really grinds my gears? People not returning my calls, e-mails, or text messages. If you really want to piss me off, then don't respond back to me when I'm asking specific questions!!! Evil or Very Mad Recently, I made plans with a woman to meet up at a bar @10PM but she didn't show. I sent her texts @10:30 that I'll be there for a few more minutes and @11 that I was leaving w/o getting a response. I still haven't gotten a text or a call from her yet at least to let me know what happened!!! I even had an ex who never called me back about anything. She thought she was going to see me anyway so she would just wait. I don't understand why is it so hard for people to send a response back to us, especially when we need information from them.

Today we're gonna talk about political talk show hosts. Just think of a few...

Okay, now, most of them... if not, ALL of them, are NOT politicians. They're not, really, even though they sound like them. Most of them barely qualify as journalists.

They're spin-doctors. They take given information and deliver it with a certain spin, to appeal to a specific type of thinking. In other words, they're bull-shit artists. These guys actively manipulate information to rile people up and make a name for themselves in the process.

They pretty much do the same thing Jerry Springer did for years. Only they want us to take them seriously... and a lot of us do. *shudder*

The point is, this shit doesn't help improve social or government problems in the slightest. It just gives people even more of a reason to argue, fight and disagree with each other. Take notice that none of these guys has any kind of compromise or relevant solution that doesn't ignore half the country.

The moral: Just because someone hates the same things you do, doesn't mean they're right.

You know what grinds my gears?

The failure of the United States to have an effective government system.

We try to tell the rest of the world how to do things, but we don't have things right ourselves. The controversy of abortion has still not died and we consider homosexual marriage to be unconstitutional whilst we celebrate how far we've come in the equal treatment of women and African-Americans. The hypocracy has spread through the system like a cancer and there is no cure. We are governed by popular belief instead of common sense.

There is written that there is to be a separation of church and state, yet we allow everyone to vote. The majority is in control and the American majority seems to be Christian, trying to use religious reasoning for lawful justification.

I know politics aren't really welcomed here because of the arguments they can cause, so I won't go into further detail. I just started thinking about these things and got really angry to the point where I had to write it out to make myself calm down. Consider this as a rant and leave it at that.

I plan to be pharmacist in the future, but what really annoys me more than anything else are some of these medicines that have been manufactured lately!

I swear some of these drugs cause more damage than the condition they treat. For example, there is a medicine that is used for treatment of heart disease and cholesterol. However, some of the side effects include rashes, gas, headaches, nausea and or heartburn, and in some rare cases, weakness with flu like symptoms and muscle pain! After hearing all that, I'd rather have the high cholesterol and work it out on my own!

Geez, did anyone even try to refine the drug before sending it out? No wonder there are so many lawsuits over medicine! With junk like that, we might as well go back to using roots and plants to treat diseases!

You know what really grinds my gears?

College Commercials!

I freakin' hate them, especially the ITT Technical Institute ones. In all these commercials, it showcases the same cardboard cut-outs of how their life was going no where. Then like a magic wand, they go to ITT and 2 years later they have this great paying job and their lives become story books of success and luxury. BULLSHIT!

I'm a college graduate from a state institution. I've had my bachelor's of General Technology and my associates of Computer Design and Animation Engineering (fancy talk for Computer Animation and CAD) for over two years now. Thanks to this crappy world economy, I work every day of the week between two jobs, a Lowe's Home Improvement store and a small independent video game store.

Despite how hard I try to find that dream job that at least pays decently, I keep getting the same fucking rejection e-mail "Sorry, we do not have a position at our company at this time but we'll keep your resume on file." which is just business talk for "No Work Experience, no thanks! Good fucking luck!"

The whole field is open with job opportunities (least in my chosen field) for those who have had at least 5+ years of previous experience. Then what the hell does that make college? An expensive day-care for late-teens and early-twenties?! I can't even take an internship to gain experience thanks to high living costs and my student loans which are barely covered by my two crappy jobs. Its a hell of a thing that I haven't started my career yet and I'm already $50,000 in the hole to get that damn required degree in the first place. What a load of fuck!

But, I digress. Those commercials annoy the fuck out of me cause of just how farcical they are. Even the Education Connection one annoys the hell out of me too... why does it have to be so damn annoying yet catchy at the same time?! Its like the god awful ending theme to Captain Planet... argh!!!

-ahem- ... Back to you...
