yes i am an american soldier serving in the U.S. Army. yes i have been deployed. and yes i have been in combat. and i know i'm probably gonna get some hate mail because most people in other countries seem to have america figured out because they watch the news or too many movies without actually coming here to experience our country. but you should all know that not everyone is like what you see on tv. we arent all dumb rednecks that walk around in waist deep water with an umbrella. because every country has that person. the whole reaon why i made this thread is because i see too much america bashing. dont assume that everyone in this country is george bush. we have problems just like everyone else does. we are no different than any other country. except for the fact that we have every other country here in ours. and i've served with people from all over the world, and taken a few rounds for some of them. and because of that i now have P.T.S.D. which is not fun in the least bit.

and i dont care if no one posts on this topic because it's not meant for it. all i wanted to say is dont base a country off of one person. i dont do it, i dont expect people to do it to me. i have pride in my country, not my government. i could go on and on and on about how shitty our government is. but thats a thread all in it's own. either way send your hate posts if it makes you feel any better cause your not gonna be able to do anything about it. no matter how hard you want to. just dont stereotype a country till you experience the whole country.

Ummm, whos bashing America? I admit I said I prefer being canadian, but everyone prefers there own country over others (usually) America is a decent country, not the best not the worst. Also, ive been to America on several occasions. Usually filled with violence. (Like my downstairs neighbore getting shot in the face) Maybe LA is just that violent.
But when I say this, youd have too understand. I like Canada more. Not because I think America is bad. I just love my country.
Also, I dont think at any point ive seen anyone stereotype americans. I mean, were all pretty diverse on this forum. Hmm, seems im ranting. Oh well.

this isnt the only forum i posted this on. there's like 6 others. and i love canada. my fiance is canadian. shes from toronto. and yes L.A. is violent. i dont know why anyone would want to go there. this thread is directed at the people that think americans are nothing but scum. there are places in this country that are awful, but thats any country. most people i talk to that are from other countries say they love america. because they go to the good places like washington, wisconsin, arizona, and so forth. but if you go to a place that is famous for violence like los angeles, then thats what your gonna get. that city is after all the birth place for the bloods. for instance, i went to manchester a few months ago. the people there were so friendly and nice, but ten there are some people there that are just like the assholes in the states, same with germany, italy, france(mostly), japan, korea, and even australia. i just dont understand why people hate all americans because of a select few. dot hate all of us, just hate the republicans like the rest of the country

I'm American and a former Coast Guardian, and I know the limits that are breaking this place. I think the reason why we are in financial ruin so far is because of the past three presidents (And they are all in one place god forbid). Bill Clinton and his outsourcing, George Bush Junior with his outlandish military funding, and Obama with his overzealous spending on pet projects that overshadowed George's and Bill's Combined. Ugh, it makes me sick.

post traumatic stress disorder is when you see or experience something so horrible that it will traumatize your brain. in my case it messed with the memory lobe, causing flashbacks to my combat experiences. which in turn causes insomnia, and then if left untreated, i will go insane. however i was able to finally get a doctor to prescribe me ambien and it has really helped my attitude and helped me get to sleep. me and my fiance have gotten married finally. we postponed the wedding til i got better with my insomnia. granted the ambien is a temporary solution, it's workin the best right now.
