|
|
"if fun didn't matter, halloween costumes wouldn't come in adult sizes"--commercial for Little Big World. I love halloween, and last year I didn't manage to get a costume together. I had planned on being someone from a song, the man with the red right hand, from Red Right Hand by Nick Cave. I couldn't decide how to do the costume and before I knew it, it was halloween night. and that's when I realized the perfect idea for a costume. Cheap as free, clever, funny, and most importantly of all, it's something that I would love to be dressed as for a day. This halloween, because my facial hair doesn't grow very well on the sides of my mouth, I will take a pen or marker, draw myself a goatee, and bam. I'm my evil twin. so, ladies and gents, who else wants to be something this year? speak up, tell us what you'll dress as. I'm sure we've got some creative ideas just waiting to be heard. |

I get to dress up for work (i.e. I'm a server at a steak house), and I've had a costume that has yet still be worn for three years now, if I find that sucker I'm putting it on, cost $130 back in the day....$190 last I saw. Anyway, as for me, I'm dressing like one of my 5 role models of all time.......DEATH.. (BWA HAHAHA) _________________ Make Peace or War$, whatever you prefer. LOL |

(BWA HAHAHA) | That reminds me. someday, I want to put on a grim reaper costume and just hang out in the lobby of a retirement center. if they won't let me, then I'll just hang around the outside. even better cuz I can stand by the window and stare at people. |

I may come up with sadistic ideas, especially means of physical torture (I was planning on writing a series of horror-detective stories with totally psychotic killers.), but I doubt I'd ever act on them. it's actually a known side effect of an antidepressant I'm on, makes me less likely to want to leave the house. plus I'd just feel terrible afterwards. |

*rubbing hands and cackling maniacally* Excellent... I knew Ashton couldn't resist the allure of supervillainy for long...
Anyway, back on topic, I'm making a home-made Hellboy costume. Hopefully, I can get all the materials together to make it halfway decent... I thought the tough part would be to build a working Right Hand of Doom (sort of similar to the "Red Right Hand" song, I always thought), but I found some useful inspiration to create my own for cheap. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! Boots, it'll be too hard for me to figure out how to do the hooves and make them look decent.
BTW, I first heard "Red Right Hand" off of the CD "Songs in the Key of X", a compilation of songs used in and inspired by the X-Files series. That was waaaaaaaaaaay back, like maybe '95 or '96. I had listened to that song so much that I'm psyched whenever I hear it used in another soundtrack (it's also been used in the first Scream film). _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! It only occurred to me a couple days ago that I forgot to factor in a tail, so I'm either going to go for a cheap devil's tail bought at a store, or maybe forgo the tail all together and hope no one notices. Truth be told, I'm rushing just to make sure I have all the makeup I need and get the finishing touches done on my Right Hand of Doom, I don't need to add yet another annoying detail onto my costume.
Seriously, if you only knew how much I stressed over how I was going to accomplish the bald-headed, pseudo-samurai haircut Hellboy has. And no, I wasn't going to shave the top of my head just for a costume. I might be obsessed with Halloween, but not that obsessed.... well, okay, so I did grow out my sideburns into big ol' mutton chops, but I think most people think I'm trying to bring the style back into fashion or something. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! devil tail wouldn't work too terribly well. remember, he doesn't have a point. maybe just get a random tail, find a red one, or dye one red, or put a red condom on one, hell, I dunno. I mean, you're stretched for time, that's the only reason I'm making a condom suggestion. ...y'gonna bother with the samaratin? |

Nah... I have a pretty realistic-looking black toy gun that I could just wear in a holster... i figure if no one asks me to pull the gun out, it'll look fine, otherwise I might just not bother with a gun at all (I know, going unarmed seems a bit out of the spirit of the character, but we'll see what happens) _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! I love the drunk scene. also the fight with legolas. |

I've never dressed up for Halloween. In fact, I've only ever dressed up in a costume a few times, and not since I was quite young. However, I went to the London MCM Expo (MCM stands for Movie Comic Media, in case anyone's wondering; it's kinda similar to Comic-con) last weekend, and I saw lots of cosplay there, and it made me want to do that for next year, though I'm not sure who I want to dress up as. One idea I've had is maybe going as Gambit, from X-Men. He was my favourite X-Man.
As for Hellboy, that sounds like a wicked costume. I've only seen the first movie; hope to see the second one though, it looks good. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

I've never done anything special for Halloween, and I probably never will. For a start, it's nowhere near as big a thing over here as it is over in America. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Yeah, it is a big thing in the United States on Halloween....well, in some state, of course....I not really much into Halloween, anymore. When I was in my early teens, my friends and I will have a halloween party, go to one of my friend's neighborhood, where a lot of people gives out candies and when we're done, we go back of one of my friend's house and trade candies, thats my most favorite part :3. Now, I don't those anymore, I lost my Halloween spirit and I get a little paranoid, like the feeling that someone will pop out of nowhere with a creepy costumes and scare the hell out of me >_____< I do not like that! It always result me crying like a big baby or having nightmares about it >___<. |
