I so hope this ends up being good.
And hopefully they don't make the Flash suck. _________________ Owner of the Lion's Den Pub.

The Flash is going to be hard to do. I mean he's really just a speedy guy. They might have added some 'powers' to make him more interesting in some other video game.
But if you really think about it, if he went up against anybody else, shouldn't he be able to like run up behind them and just punch them in the back. His punches are faster. And he should be able to dodge punches faster too.
Superman should also be able to dodge at least just as fast. Its a cool idea for a game. BUT i'm really afraid its going to be an unbalanced match up for most of the characters. _________________ "Every exit is an entrance somewhere else." -Tom Stoppard

Well almost every fighting game has moves where the fight launches a flurry of punches or kicks. Like E. Honda's slaps.
Mortal Kombat had the teleportation attacks, so that could work with just an fx change.
Making little whirlwinds to raise a character up or push them back would work too.
But I agree, they're going to have to depower a lot of characters to make the game balanced. _________________ Owner of the Lion's Den Pub.

You forget that Supes rarely needs a reason to dodge attacks, since he's all invulnerable and all that, so when he goes up against super-strong opponents who can do some damage to him, he tends to forget to dodge and just takes punches... at least, I've never seen the Man of Steel ever use his super-speed to dodge attacks before in the movies, cartoons, or comics, but I suppose I could be wrong. And even I've never seen Supes us his super-speed for a flurry of punches or anything like that... just running or flying very, very quickly.
In the end, I think in order to balance things out they'll make Superman more of a "Mighty Glacier" (ridiculously strong, but with very slow attacks), and the Flash a "Fragile Speedster". _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

Well on the show Smallville, he's dodged a few things or two to avoid 'scratches' on him. But I think he's learned to catch bullets now with his hands. _________________ "Every exit is an entrance somewhere else." -Tom Stoppard

Hahaha. I'm guessing you're talking about the new Soul Caliber? I can't say I'm looking forward to it. Although the though of Darth Vader getting beaten up in a pair of tightie whities is pretty funny. _________________ Owner of the Lion's Den Pub.

Actually, I believe Ronald was talking about his own fighting game project... You know, the one he mentions at the top of the thread...

Doh!
I was just reading something about how Soul Caliber is going to have costumes that will be destroyed during the fight. I missed your link completely. _________________ Owner of the Lion's Den Pub.

Actually you were misinformed.
I read an article that confirms from the producers that there will be FATALITIES. And the super heroes who don't kill will have BRUTALITIES.
Which means mortal kombat characters could kill Superman, while Superman will probably just beat them up senseless at the end. _________________ "Every exit is an entrance somewhere else." -Tom Stoppard

I was actually hoping Superman would be a bit more brutal on his enemies, like maybe he'd lobotomize them with his heat vision at the end of the fight, like that episode of the Justice League cartoon set in the alternate "evil" universe... Oh well...
Fatalaties just wouldn't work with most DC characters (well, except maybe Lobo if they end up using him in the game). Even Batman, as dark and violent as he is, just can't go against his code of non-killing... it just wouldn't feel right, since his code is basically what sets him apart from the baddies. Unless they throw in some DC villains (and, again, Lobo), you're not going to see much blood on the DC characters' hands...
Just imagine if Midway Games had gotten their hands on Marvel characters instead. Wolverine, the Hulk, Deadpool, Punisher, and maybe even Elektra would probably have some of the bloodiest Fatalaties in the game. Marvel "anti-heroes" don't worry about that non-killing jazz... _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

Captain Marvel footage will be shown at San Diego Comic Con.
And I was very close to the Flash move predictions. I'm pretty happy with what I saw from the E3 footage. _________________ Owner of the Lion's Den Pub.
