I bought the Wii on launch day, (had to camp outside my local Wal-Mart for about 5 1/2 hours to get one) and after two months of owning the system I must say that I'm REALLY satisfied with it. It's really fun and I love the interaction with the remote. I'm a big Nintendo fan but I'm really surprised at how well the Wii has been received as compared to the XBox360 and the PS3. I was just wondering if anyone else has played it or the other systems and what your thoughts are?

Did you get that Wii wrist strap thing replaced?

Curious, as I was reading the news about some Wii wrist strap flying off.

I don't have a Wii, but it looks cool though from the commercials.

Nah, I haven't had any problems with my wrist strap. Honestly, I don't know how people can possibly be breaking their T.V.s unless they aren't wearing the strap like they're supposed to. Even though the strap is a little thin, Hercules himself would have a difficult time breaking it off in a manner that would cause the remote to go flying forward.

Well there are people who tend to play a little to hard with games which allow them more interactivity. It's mainly about a little self control and not going crazy in front of the TV.

The string that holds the strap to the Wii-mote is pretty thin in my opinion too, and I guess Nintendo only managed to underestimate the gamers and people who use the game system.

The guys over at Nintendojo put the strap to the test with an original release strap and proved that it wasn't just a little bit of stress from playing. Over 30 pounds and the strap still doesn't break? How many of these reported snappings were from people just not wanting to wear the strap in the first place?

That's such a perfect post! I felt the same way. I actually saw a picture online of a Wii-mote that was EMBEDDED in someone's television!!! Now honestly, I think the Wii-mote is pretty durable, but NO WAY could a normal human EMBEDD on in a television. That was either a doctored photo, or that person used a hammer or something to smash their remote into their t.v. I think most of the people complaining are not wearing the wrist straps, and then trying to get their expensive t.v.s replaced for free.

Huge Wii fan here. Bought it for my son originally but now we are both fighting for play time. In my opinion it is the best thing to happen to home consoles in a longtime.

as a gamer, my oppinion on the Wii is that it's a good system for famlys and for thous that have a lot of freands over. If you are not into casual games, then you are going to find the Wii's game selection at some points to be a lacking.

now to be fair, i will also give my oppinion on the other consol systems in this generation.

The PS3 has a lot of potental, but not enuth companys are takeing advantage of it, and thous that are, are takeing the sweet time makeing them makeing meny feal like some one who drank a who large bottel of cola and now have to wait behind a long freken line.

The 360 is a good middle road between the PS3 and the Wii, But it has hidden costs(want to play online and play demos when they are release rather than wait two weeks. then pony up the cash sucker.), and the internet community on some games would make you want to smash your own head on a cinder block.

The Wii is an alright system, but they need to get more single player games out for it. Most of the games right now are multiplayer. That's not necassarily a bad thing, but for people like me who don't really enjoy multiplayer games that much, it's somewhat of a let down.

i have all 3 next gen systems. and i must say the wii is my least favorite system.why you may ask: 1.the laser burns out easily 2. once a disk is scratched it won't work 3. the senser bar dosn't work if you have a crt tv do to the ir coming off the tv.

the ps3 comes second in line because: 1. not a good selection of games 2. you need a credit card to buy content in canada.

the xbox i still have yet to find a problem with it.some might say it's not a family console.YOUR WRONG LOOK AT THE GAMES SELECTION. and also you pay the membership fees on xbox to improve the server. the ps3 and wii don't do that read the privicy agreements. sorry wii lovers Sad

I like the games on xbox best, although Brawl is one of my all-time favorites. And you got lucky all my xbox when after my warranty expired, and i had to pay.

Yes, unfortunatly, the warranty only lasts a year. Fortunatly, I've had mine for several years and it's still going. And I don't know what you're talking about, lunerlancer. The PS3 has a great selection of games, at least as far as I'm concerned. I guess it's just a matter of taste.

i got mine when it first came out. still no problems with it. plus microsoft put a three year free service on the 3 red lights of doom. and if you bitch enough they'll still do it after the warranty period.just threaten them a bit. like say you'll buy a ps3.they don't want that. now do they
