Thought I'd try and start up a game thread... for something to do. If anyone has ever played Code Breaker, they should be familiar with how this works. For those unfamiliar with it, it works like this:
A word is given, but it is hidden from view, e.g. *****. Others attempt to determine what the word is by offering a guess and then improving upon that guess the next time based upon the information returned to them from the previous guess.
When someone makes a guess, they recieve a responce informing them of two things. 1: how many letters from their guessed word are in the Password, and 2: how many letters from the guessed word (if any) are in the same position in the Password as they are in the guessed word.
It is then up to those guessing to attempt to figure out what the word is by comparison and process of elimination.
i.e.
Password: ****
Guess #1: slap
Response #1: Letters in the Password (3) Letters in correct position (2)
If the Password is PLAN, then the P, L and A from the guessed SLAP are in the Password and the L and A is in the correct place. Of course, exactly what letters are correct or not aren't told.
Rules:
Only 1 guess per response i.e. You may not guess a second time before a response is given for your guessed word. BUT multiple people may guess before a response is given.
No Pro-nouns, no numbers, no hyphenated words.
Words should be between 4-8 letters.
The one who guesses corectly first may choose the next password.

Yes, the Fallout games used the idea for the computer hacking feature.
