Meh, only at rank 30 right now. Have'nt been playing as much since I don't have alot of people playing halo 4 when I do. Its one of those types of games where if you are not playing with friends, then you are not going to be speaking to alot of people.

Game was good, loved the new elements.
Hated how choppy it got on co-op though.

I'm honestly really miffed that they removed the ability to record replays from Campaign and Spartan Ops.

Stuck AI Banshees, Watchers creamed in mid-air by Ord drops... I've already seen numerous things I'd LOVE to have saved a replay of. :<

They could fix it in a patch.

Just beat the game on Legendary.

I wish they would make the thruster pack outside of flood and campaign mode more powerful. It feels like it only makes me move a couple of feet.

I imagine that is for good reason. So many people have fallen to their death due to the Dodge Armour Ability's long reach. And truthfully, you don't really need the Thruster pack to move you more than a handful of feet. If used correctly, it can give you a huge advantage.

On flood mode maybe, but I have'nt seen that many people use it even if they could fall to their deaths.

I don't think it is a first choice, so it's understandable. I haven't seen very many holograms or jetpacks, either.

If the thruster pack had more of a punch, I would use it. especially in tight cornered areas if I felt a DMR battle would start to go awry, or if a grenade was too close for comfort.

I've found that the Hardlight Shield can be quite a lovely defense against grenades. Unfortunately, I'm usually a little slow on the uptake. It can be an excellent backup shield if you lose your shields, especially in a long distant fight and if you're close to cover. Pop it up and move behind cover. Or, if a grenade lands nearby, turn, pop your Hardlight and deflect the blast.

Just gotta hope nothing or no one is behind you at the time.

It's excellent for deflecting Incineration Cannon blasts, also. Although you have to remember to keep it up after the first hit because the IC blast bounces and can drop down on you if you let the shield drop too soon. I'd like to see if it's possible to deflect a Hunter's blast back at him. hehe

There should be ab achievement for that. XD

I just found out that Halo 4 was'nt even nominated to be Game of the Year. Though to be honest, it was too soon after its release anyways to qualify. Which is why I'm sure that is why Black Ops 2 was'nt nominated either.

I'm currently residing at SR-52. I have to go all the way to 60 if I want to get the support mod for my class. Which kinda seems wierd because what is the point of being in a specialization if you can't get the full use out of it?

That's the whole point of it, though. That's the appeal. You get a very powerful mod, why just have it handed to you? You gotta work through 10 levels and earn it.

And, really, it's only 10 levels. Plus you get some snazzy armour pieces and weapon skins along the way. I'd probably have already finished my Pathfinder Specialization but I kinda got distracted by my PS3 this past week. >.>

I think the whole 1-50 buildup was enough to qualify for the mod, at least for the first one. At least after that it would have made the whole endeavor worth it. The amor is'nt bad, don't get me wrong on that, I just wanted to have more use other than appearance.

The one time I got it in campaign, it felt more powerful than the mp one. Yes the mp thruster pack is very short range. The one in campaign though was "tuned and purposed for heavy armor" as one of the characters say. And it had a good kick on it. Better than mp's.

Maybe it could change in a title update or something.

I don't see why it would.

Why not? I doubt it's meant to move you so far that it puts you half way across the map. It's a very high speed mod that isn't easily maneuvered with. I often use it as a Flood and find that unless I'm out in the open, I spend half the thruster time pressed against a wall. Now, in Flood that's not such a big deal because the gametype is intended to be numbers vs firepower. But in regular gametypes where control is a primary survival aspect, it's not necessarily adventageous to be sliding across walls and off cliff sides at the drop of a hat. You don't really need to move more than a couple of feet to throw off an attacker's aim or to evade a grenade or rocket.

This is supposed to be the answer to evade. I don't want to go half the map, but it would be helpful as a source of movie more quickly to the map.

What, sprinting isn't good enough for you?

It would help to have something to actually 'evade' something. Two feet can hardly put you out of harm's way.

Ok, so I actually did some stuffing around with the thruster and I have to say, while I can see how you might feel the distance is "insignificant", I stand by my original statement in that it needs no changing and the distance is sufficent.

Given the right situation (as with any armour ability) it is a life saver. While moving forward and backward may not appear to be the most ideal choices for evasion, sideways can be exceptionally useful to move you out of the way of incoming projectiles, away from a grenade or simply a snap movement behind cover.

If, IF changes to the distance were to be made, I would say that nothing more than a 20% increase at maximum. However, the speed of movement could be upped a fraction.

But, like I said, even after testing it, I stand by my original opinion that nothing needs to be changed.

Believe me when I say that I do not want the movement to be as vast as the one from Flood, I just wanted to see a bit of a distance.

I love the thruster pack and it has potential just like the jetpack or AC or any other AA in the lineup. Right now though, in anything outside of flood, I can't find myself using it anymore.

Just got to level 72. Meaning I completed the Pioneer specialization and got the Fast Track mod. First game I did on Spartan Ops yielded 7117 points. I'm now currently on the Pathfinder specialization to work on my Vehicular loadout. It composes the two mods from Pathfinder and Operator to enhance the armor, reduce the EMP time, slow the heating of a vehicle's weapons, and allow me to use mounted weapons more easily without the speed issues.

I'd need to check, but I think Gunner and [the Operator mod] are both Tactical, meaning they can't both be used on the same loadout. Again, I'm not 100% sure. Would have to check but I can't be arsed setting up my XBox just to check.

Eh, I checked anyway. (nothing better to do)

I am wrong. Gunner is Support Upgrade and Wheelman is Tactical Package.

Should be an interesting combo.

It is most interesting when you use it with a Mantis.
