So I finally beat the 500k+ Lost Viking achievement score.
The related achievements are:
Lost Kiving: Bronze, Silver, Gold.
Terra-tron Terrorized!
It's actually not that bad if you guys know the mechanics (strategy) of the game.
Here are some facts:
1. Holding down space bar does NOT help. It's actually better to spam the space keyboard for rapid fire. You have to literally press space bar - tap tap tap tap tap over and over to get the weapon to fire rapidly.
2. You can only stack 2 drones. 2 plasma or 2 side missiles. So getting more than 2 drones is not possible. You get 500 points for collecting bonus but you don't get another drone. Same thing for the other weapons. You can only have Plasma or Side Missiles. NOT both.
3. Plasma is better than side missiles, when fighting the boss. I actually skip getting side missiles all together and wait for the bombs to kick in.
4. The bonus weapons "float" around the screen and changes to a different bonus every 15 secs. SO, if you need a drone, wait for it to change. It changes after the side missiles.
5. Collect all the drones (2), and plasma (2). After that collect bombs as many as you can. DRONES are auto target. Which means you don't have to aim. You just spam the keyboard and the missiles will fly towards the nearest target on the screen. This is VERY helpful.
6. USE the bombs, whenever you are about to die! The bombs blow up everything on the screen (except mini-boss and boss), AND it puts you into immunity mode for a few seconds. It can save your life. So for example, if a boss attacks you and you can't escape/dodge it, just use your bomb.
7. The game repeats itself. First level is protoss, carrier boss. Second level is zerg, zerg boss. Third level is terran, TerraTron boss. Once you beat terratron, it loops back to the protoss level except the stuff is slightly harder. I didn't really notice much difference other than the terran levels had fire flames shooting from the side of the walls, that you have to dodge/weave. You should be able to get 500,000 around the 9th level. I've managed to get 22 bombs saved up to use with 7x life.
Once you understand the above, you have a better chance of winning.

Problem is some people play on different servers. Europe and North American servers are two different battle.net
I played BETA since Feb. So I'm somewhat SC2 out. I like doing all the campaign and challenge achievements.
Don't have too much time these days to play SC2 as much as I want to.

I did the BETA crusher achivements. Doing those in each team and race just gets to be a grind now.
The challenges I was referring to are the single player challenge maps. Those were fun. Psionic Assault was interesting.

The overlords aren't detectors. Its the overseers.
That achivement was slightly challenging but not terribly bad.
There are like 4 key spots I managed to do the nukes and got it. The rest, you just use your guys and have them kill em.
I would have to say that was the second hardest achivement of the challenge maps.
