In this case Rikardo is correct. Nintendo offered the free games to those " ambassadors" or first representatives who had bought the 3DS at the launch price as both a thank you and a apology for dropping the price so rapidly.
I dare say given a few weeks the games will be ripped off and available for free on a pirate site.

The event did started on the 1st of September, so I think in rightls, you should have the games on your 3DS. It could be because you hadn't bought a single game from E Shop before that date! I was given a notice before then in E Shop. Sorry, I thought you knew, why didn't you tell me that you had E shop?

Ok let me settle this mess before everyone gets mad in order to become an ambassador you would've had to connect to the e-shop before august 12 anyone who didnt isnt an ambassador its a fail safe system so those who bought it after the price cut cant get it, sorry to say this silv but if you didnt connect to the e-shop before that date you cant get the games at all

Well, it is life. This is why it is always good to try every option of a new console you buy and keep yourself up to date with the flash news of the business that made it. MI mean you never make a topic sooner asking about how connect to the e-shop or how update your 3DS. I would have made a pleasure to tell you that myself too. I didn't even know that someone ignored that or didn't try to test the e-shop. You had it for four months and you didn't even bother to see what this little monster had like potential.

I think I qualify as an Ambassador as I had bought the system on release. Too bad I don't have one anymore.

I bought the 3DS mainly for Ocarina of Time. I had no reason to connect it to the internet, let alone browse the E-shop. Nintendo's selection of games is virtually shit compared to what it was 10 years ago. I didn't even know there was an E-shop. It's a bloody hand-held. Even after looking through it, I see no reason to go back.
I was only interested because I thought it would save me some trouble hunting down the Gameboy Advance Metroid games on Amazon.
