I'm sorry if anyone takes offence of this post, but i've had this on my mind of a while and i'd like to get it off my chest. Anyways Mark Twain has writen a essay entitled "The Damn human race" in this essay he declares that Mankind are both flawed and corrupted and that we as a race should be classified as “lower animals” rather than “higher animals.” also he does not hold claim to a Darwinian or creationism standpoint's but rather draw's conclusions from his own observations. Mark twain also states that mankind(humans as a whole) are cruel to other animals this is true, this statement is back up with the story of the hunter killing 72 buffalo(Buffalo Bill), and eating only part of one, while a animal kills one and eats it whole such as the anaconda, it only killed what it needed and does not kill again intill it need to feed.He also writes in his essay that we are the only animals that rages war with each other over the littlest things and lastly Mark twain states that the reason that we are cruel is due to our "moral sence" with out it we'll be able to do no harm and we'll be able to become a higher animal but its the only thing that makes us different than them. anyays when Mark twain ends his essay he writes "The moral sense can be both a blessing and a curse, yet in the end, it is up to man to decide how to utilize it." well I for one do think hes right and wrong, we as a race are flawed & corrupted yes we do rage war with each other we also waste there is alot of things wrong with the human race that we cant fix try if we may we'll always be flawed there is no way we cant become perfect its impossable, if you have anything to add or say by all means please post. _________________ Hay!, I'm back from where i was..at, how is everything? |

for one i think mark twain is right the human race is flawed and it will never fix its self but thats an observation baced off of recent stuff known to him if u look back to when cavemmen where around they where if u could but it a highly evolved race they followed there instincs and only killed to reat nothing more
so what im trying to state is that with the evolution of technology the human race is becoming more flawed ex. we kill becouse its fun we throw away food that we dont eat we kill our envierment just to make something as small as a toothpick and dont get me started of cars.
now just to but it out there im a celtic so mother Earth is sacred to me and every thing that harms the earht is bad to me so his is from one side of the stand point. _________________ you all saw it, the orphanage attacked me first. |

I agree with you, what you said just reminded me of the essay that Ralph waldo emerson wrote about Self-reliance anyways to sum it all up he talks about how man should do away with all the technology such as computers, cellphones stuff like that, and go back to the old ways but man has become to relayable on that said techology and if we do get rid of siad technology man wont be able to function. _________________ Hay!, I'm back from where i was..at, how is everything? |

I don't really know much about such things, but I'd say that manufacturing such things as cellphones or computers pollutes the earth on some level. Then there's the whole disposal of the plastic used.
And computers use a lot of electricity as well. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

Well yeah Computers stay & same with the internet because with out those people cant do sirten things...like watch movies and other "fun" things...and E-mail, and do job things and what not. also man has became to releyent on the factories for jobs & by products that people use...but i do think man should do something about the pollution.

factory's where build to supply the mass population with stuff that they think they need not what they really need and nothing more you don't need a car to get from place to place u have horses and other modes of transportation like a bike or any thing ells if u put you mind to it anything can be a form of transportation
so i don't think that the human race is dependent on these things its just the corporations making us think that we need it so we will keep putting money in there pockets and at that rate destroy the world faster and faster because the ignorant masses believe what they are told by these people and are afraid of change.
if u want to see where we are headed right now the movie the day the earth stood still is a great example of that. now I'm not saying that there is any life out there or what not but it is a prime example of a possibility and there are other possibilities out there but this one dose make a valid point about the earth.
1 very big statement is if the earth dies we die if we die the earth will survive _________________ you all saw it, the orphanage attacked me first. |

That is the main point. the world is over populated at this point. It is growing to fast for our economy and ecosystem. If we were to have this population further down the road after we have made more economic and ecosystem friendly breakthroughs it would be a heck of a lot better. _________________ yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. that's why it is called the present.

True, sadly we cant stop the over population of getting any worst, because well sex is great and I dont think people will ever stop doing it, also there wont wont be a economic boost for awhile, while the current economy is down, i hope Obama does something to fix it i really do hope it gives the boost we need.

We're dependent on those things in the sense that we won't be able have the kind of living that we do today. Which of course has both its positive and negative sides. While it's true that people could use bikes or horses to get around, people wuldn't be able to go very far, nor would large amounts of stuff be so easy to transport. There'd be no internet, no malls, no television, no electricity, not really a lot of what we are used to today. It would be like living in the 17th century.
While we should be of course think about how much we pollute and how we treat nature, it's rather drastic to give up all those things. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

But the ones that survive will be stronger mentally and physically. Also they will be closer together unless they see each other as a enemy instead of a ally. _________________ yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. that's why it is called the present.

that's what happens all the time that's when people see that some one is stronger than them they try to kill that person to prove that they are stronger and tends to start wars and other violent actions that makes up the human race _________________ you all saw it, the orphanage attacked me first. |

... Samuel Clements has just risen higher in my favorite writer's list. ^^
I too feel that the human race is too irresponsible to deserve all that we take for granted on this planet. The latest bad move by Bush, axing imput from Wildlife Biologists on projects in sensitive wildlife areas angers me deeply, and attacks my career before I even start.
I've chosen to become a wildlife biologist as a wolf specialist and work for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and do what I can from the inside to give the animals of this country better protections and raise awareness of mankind's impact on nature. I've been accepted to Oregon State University, where I'll study, but I need to be accepted into the Fish and Wildlife Service's Student Career Experience Program or the same from another agency before I can be on my way...
Every time I hear about mankind trying to alter the balance of nature, I am deeply angered. I respect the groups working to restore habitats, but sometimes they may have been damaged too far by humans to be fully recovered. The biggest example being wolf reintroduction. Before Europeans came to America, the conservative estimate of the wolf population was two million, coast to coast. Now there's hardly five thousand in a few areas in the lower 48 states, with people like Idaho's governor wanting to kill off the wolves to expand elk hunting. Not to mention Sarah Palin, who I would have ripped the neck out of if given the chance if she became vice president, trying to offer a $150 reward for the severed left foreleg of a wolf, and doing nothing to enforce the Federal Airborne Hunting Act. Instead, she approves of "denning," which is going into a wolf's den and killing every last pup. I swear on my grave that if I am ever witness to such an atrocity, these killers will die slowly and painfully.
I am ashamed to walk in this human body with all that our species has done... |

Mankind will always be irresponsible, for their actions that we as a race do that makes us damned man will always try to bind something to their will so he/she can control it, in the end it will allways backfire. in the years to come im not sure even we as a race will take the responablity for what we have done to the environment, although there are people out there trying to fix the wrong that we did, but there are people who are sill blind and say there is nothing wrong with the environment when there is. _________________ Hay!, I'm back from where i was..at, how is everything? |

I've seen movies, i think we have to reace a serten point in evolution or understanding before they show them selfs >.> _________________ Hay!, I'm back from where i was..at, how is everything?

We must be a tourist attraction for them. "Look at the foolish humans!"
In the animal kingdom, female hyenas dominate over the males. And only the females "laugh." |
