The story is here:

States Petition for Secession

And the worst part about this is that I come from Ohio, one of the states that made these ignorant petitions... If this secession happens, which it won't, I'm moving to another state like Illinois.

Seriously, the election's over. Deal with it and move on!

Like the infamous 47% video that came out and the fact he didn't tell specific numbers on his plans?

obama only won because of his idiotic mudslinging, and the people bought it hook line and sinker like they always do every time.

It's never about who could be the better man for the job, the winner is always the one who can sling more mud.

who cares if he drives the country into debt that will screw everyone for hundreds of years or more, or what underhanded stuff he does right?

Personally though I doubt they will, I really hope colorado succeeds because that's the only hope we have.

There are three things wrong with the secession attempt. If it ever succeeded:

1. They lose all citizenship within a year, meaning that anyone wanting to opt out has that time frame to return to the United States without any hassle from the newly formed countries.

2. There will be no funding or support from any states or citizens still in the United States except for what we owe the seceding states up to the date they started the process.

3. If the seceding states owe any money to the federal government, then said government would be cashing it in as soon as possible.

In other words, if they secede, they would be in dire straits to finance themselves.

That won't change much from the fact that the government is already trillions of dollars in debt because of obama.

Plus not to mention the hundreds of thousands of jobs that will be lost in pharmaceutical and health care when obamacare goes into effect.

America has been up the wazzo in debt for years, even before Obama. The financial state of America has been steadily declining for DECADES.

The problem with politics is that the people running for offices of power make promises, such as lowered taxes, that are either broken or compromised.

As a joke, I wanted to see a candidate that was like an internet troll. The Troll Party, if you will. Troll would be like an acronym for Total Relentless Omnipotent Lasting Leadership.

It would be someone who would announce things like "I promise to make your lives a living Hell!" or "I will take away every single right you have and make my own decisions!" But in actuality, he or she is actually doing things that are beneficial to society as a whole.

That was satire though Silv. A reversal of words so to speak.

I believe the dissection of the word "politics" is all one needs. "poly-" meaning many and "ticks" being small blood-sucking pests.

Truth be told, political discussion is about as welcoming for conversation as an unskilled physician is as a candidate to perform open-heart surgery. Arguments are about the extent of politics. "My way is right, and if you follow the other guy's plan, we're all going to die." If people spent half as much time in government doing work and generating solutions to problems as they did posturing about how right their decisions are, we'd be in pretty good shape.

Now, if you want to argue about who was more right or who had the better plans, by all means. Just remember that probably half the key legislation never makes it through Congress in under a year, if ever.

Question

If any state does succeed in this stupid plan, what will stop the U.S. from taking the state back?

Because it would easily be considered an act of war and get a hostile response from the other states.

How so? If a state succeeds it's no longer part of the U.S. and is considered a rogue state. And honestly what does this whole succession going to solve? All it's going to do is generate more problems within the country and possibly lead to another civil war.
